Dear  Challenger Parents & Buddies:

It is my privilege and honor to announce that Illinois District 13 has been selected to participate in the 2013 Challenger Exhibition Game at the Little League World Series!  The 2013 Challenger Game will be played on August 24, 2013 at Volunteer Stadium in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.   There will be three games played that day - the International Championship game, the US Championship game and OUR Challenger Exhibition game.  Illinois District 13 will be playing a team from District 57 Little League in Livermore, California.   The first hour of the exhibition game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.   Last year, the game was announced by Nomar Garciaparra.

Our district currently has three active challenger programs (Bartlett, Tri-Cities and Woodstock) with 165 players and hundreds of buddies. Over the next several weeks, we will be soliciting interest from parents on players and buddies who want to represent District 13 for this special event.  We have the ability to send up to 15 players and 15 buddies across the district.

Upon selection, the District will work on several activities for the team. We plan to have a lot of fun with this and promoting the team across our area.   If you are interested in participating as a player or buddy, please contact Paul Williams - Bartlett (,  He will take your information so we know who is interested in participating.

Williamsport is where every Little Leaguer and coach dreams of playing.    It is truly an opportunity of a lifetime.    We are truly honored to be selected to play.   After all, it is not everyday your son or daughter gets to play on the world’s stage broadcast live on ESPN.   And I have to say, our players and buddies have earned it!
